NYCRYD - Phills 1987 VL Commodore
Now when you think of the New Zealand Performance scene the VL commodore might not be the first car that springs to mind - but this hasnt stopped Phillip from turning this once tame family sedan into a well kitted street machine with a rumbling V8 to scare all the little kids 3 streets down.
The Original VL platform actually borrowed an Engine from Nissan in Japan, and the Straight Six versions sold in New Zealand shared in the RB20 Platform, and even came with an option for a 3 Litre, but Phill has taken the “No replacement for displacement” philosophy and mated a 5 Litre V8 into the Sedan.
Coupled with the fact that the cars original curb weight was anywhere between 1250kg and 1350kg its a deadly combo!
Check out the full details below and have a look through the pictures - thanks for sending us the details Phill!
